Kerosene

Aegis Kerosene

Kerosene is a low volatility, clear, colourless hydrocarbon liquid.

This product is dyed blue-green (for ease of identification).  Kerosene fuels are characterised by low volatility and moderately high flash points which make them difficult to ignite and burn cleanly without preheating.

CLEANING:

Kerosene is sometimes used as a degreasing solvent for cleaning metal surfaces, however its low volatility means that it is slow to evaporate and tends to leave an “oily” film on the work piece.

BITUMEN SOLVENT:

Kerosene is widely used as a cutback solvent for bitumen in road construction, to control the consistency of the bitumen during the sealing operation.

MAIN BENEFITS:

Good solvency for a range of vegetable and mineral oil based products.
